Medical Director - Community Support Program

 
Riverbend Community Mental Health, Inc., one of the largest providers of community-based mental health services in New Hampshire, is seeking a full-time Medical Director to provide leadership and clinical supervision to MDs and APRNs in our Community Support Program (CSP).  The CSP Medical Director will also provide clinical leadership to multi-disciplinary treatment teams who treat adults with severe and persistent mental illness.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Provide a visible leadership presence in the clinical program

  • Provide clinical supervision to MDs and APRNs in the program

  • Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer and CSP Program Director in creating, revising and implementing agency policies and procedures

  • Work with the Chief Medical Officer to oversee medical practices in the program

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and make clinical formulations and diagnoses

  • Use assessments in the development of an appropriate psychopharmacological treatment plan

  • Review and authorize treatment/service plans with client and family-driven goals and objectives

  • Consult with other Riverbend providers, family members and significant others, and community providers.

  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) to document patient information, referrals or other relevant information as required.

  • Adhere to all compliance procedures relevant to protected health information (PHI) and HIPAA regulations.

  • Participate in and/or provide training related to this position.

  • Participate in an on-call rotation involving weeknights and weekends for a 15-bed inpatient unit and Riverbend Emergency Services (rotated among 10 providers – approximately 5 weeks per year).  On-call work is paid at an additional rate.

 
Education and/or Experience Requirements:


  • Medical degree (MD or DO) is required
  • Valid New Hampshire medical license, or ability to become licensed as a medical provider in New Hampshire is required
  • Board certification (or eligible) in Psychiatry is required
  • Valid DEA certificate with prescriptive authority is required
  • Ability to be credentialed with Concord Hospital as a Physician is required
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with attention to detail is required
  • Experience treating patients with severe mental illness is preferred
  • Experience treating patients with diverse clinical profiles and clinical co-morbidities is preferred
