Program Assistant

Riverbend Community Mental Health, Inc., one of the largest providers of community-based behavioral health services in New Hampshire, is seeking a full-time Program Assistant to work as a float in our various locations.

As a Program Assistant, you will be a member of an administrative team of support staff who work with clinical staff and clients in a variety of capacities. We’re looking for a team player with a warm and welcoming presence who has excellent computer skills, strong customer service, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The position offers a great diversity in duties and the ability to grow within the position and the overall organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answer incoming calls and make outbound reminder calls to clients
  • Checking in clients for appointments, scheduling appointments for doctors and nurses
  • Verifying client insurance coverage, client account research, and conducting fee agreement appointments with clients and families
  • Data entry and reconciliation research
  • Conducting orientation appointments with new clients
  • Processing payments daily and logging deposits
  • Tracking of paperwork due dates for clinical and other purposes
  • Other duties as assigned


  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Work experience in an office providing healthcare service is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with attention to detail are required.
  • Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle or access to a reasonable alternative is preferred.
