Riverbend Community Mental Health, Inc., one of the largest providers of community-based behavioral health services in New Hampshire, is seeking per diem Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners (APRN) for our new Crisis Treatment Center.  The Psychiatric APRN is responsible for supporting behavioral health care provided by a multidisciplinary team within the Crisis Treatment Center.  The Psychiatric APRNs coverage hours are between 12PM and 8PM, 7 days per week. 

  • Provides psychiatric evaluations
  • Provides psychopharmacological management
  • Establishes and updates treatment goals with clients
  • Provides psychiatric consultation to staff
  • Serves as a member of the crisis treatment center team
  • Collaborates with referring clinicians, physicians, nurses or other relevant personnel regarding client care
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) to document patient information, referrals or other relevant information as required
  • Documents clinical information in accordance with medical necessity guidelines and agency standards
  • Adheres to all compliance procedures relevant to protected health information (PHI) and HIPAA regulations


  • Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) is required.
  • Active NH APRN license, or ability to become licensed as an APRN in NH is required.
  • Board certification in (or eligibility for) Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing or Clinical Nurse Specialist preferred.
  • Valid DEA certificate with prescriptive authority is required.
  • Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle or access to a reasonable alternative is required.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with attention to detail is required.
  • Experience treating patients with experiencing psychiatric crises, diverse clinical profile and clinical co-morbidities is preferred.
